2299000996 Rectifier Diode Replacement Kit, includes 2 diodes, diode holder, 1/4" Quick-Disconnect Terminals, depending on your unit you may need to replace the rivet with a 8-32 screw and nut.
Assembly
- Use an existing hole in the heat sink or drill a 5/32” mounting hole in the heat sink. Make sure there is at least 3/8” clearance behind the heat sink to accommodate the mounting rivet.
- Clean the heat sink mounting area by removing any dirt, grease or other debris, apply 240000077 heat transfer compound.
- Assemble the RR-50 as shown and attach to the heat sink plate. The brass tabs lay in the diode retainer, and are held in place by the diodes. Make certain that the cathode contacts of both diodes are facing the same direction.
- Rivet in place, if supplied (rivet setter required) If one is not available, a bolt and nut will do.
- Attach the transformer secondary leads to the brass tabs and test the charger for proper function.
Notes:
- The Cathode Side of the button diode is the side with the ring printed around the contact. Note the position of the diodes you are replacing and install the RR-50 diodes facing the same direction.
- Most charger brands will be a ‘positive output” design (the positive output lead is connected to the rectifier heat sink plate) On these chargers, the RR-50 is installed with the ring (cathode) facing down against the surface of the heat sink.
