See your instruction manual if you have questions about which filter-drier to use This filter-drier has been specifically formulated using XH9 drier desiccant to trap acid and particulates and is formulated to remove water from the refrigerant. DO NOT accept look alike or knock off filters. The 34430 Replacement Filter is for mobile applications only. If you have a microprocessor-controlled station, follow the directions in that station's operating manual to replace the filter. If your station does not have a microprocessor, follow these directions. - If recycling is in progress, turn off the RECYCLING switch. The compressor continues to operate until refrigerant clears from the suction side of the A/C system.
- Loosen the nuts at each end of the filter and remove the filter.
- Install the new 34430 filter. The refrigerant flow arrow on the filter label must point to the left. The word “INLET” stamped on the end of the filter must be on the right.
- When the filter is in place, evacuate the station for approximately 10 minutes to remove the air that entered during the filter changeout.
- Attach a vacuum pump to the oil drain port and open the oil drain valve.
- Start the vacuum pump and operate for the required amount of time.
- The station is ready to resume operation.
