The + Boost option for RTI’s ATX Series Fluid Exchange Systems was developed to decrease fluid exchange process time in low-flow automatic transmission applications during coolant line mode operation. This feature incorporates an additional diaphragm pump (+ Boost Pump) into the lower cabinet of the ATX Series machine and is plumbed into the ATX’s USED fluid flow circuit ahead of the USED fluid tank of the machine. When the ATX unit is properly connected to the vehicle, the + Boost Pump becomes an additional pump in series between the vehicle’s transmission pump and the ATX’s USED fluid tank.
Vehicles Benefiting from Optional Boost Feature
Any vehicles utilizing low transmission pump flow rates typically between 0.10 - 0.80 GPM will benefit when using an ATX Series + Boost. Many Toyota, Ford, Lincoln, Honda and some Chrysler vehicles are now manufactured with low flow transmissions (flow rates between 0.10 – 0.40 GPM) *Certain GM vehicles have transmissions with pump flow rates in excess of 0.90 GPM. Fluid exchange duration when using an ATX + Boost will remain unaffected with these types of automobiles.

How does it work? When the ATX exchange function button is depressed, (4,8,12,16,20 quarts or remove ½ quart), the exchange process is started. The + Boost pump will begin operating, aiding the vehicle’s transmission pump in removing the USED fluid. When the desired amount of USED transmission fluid is removed and deposited into the USED fluid container located inside the ATX + Boost lower cabinet, the + Boost pump will shut off.
